During the months of April and May 2006 Nigel Kendall stayed
in the small mountain village of Gaucin in Southern Spain. The purpose
of the visit was to compile a photographic record of the wildlife in the region.
The timing was perfect for the spectacular passage of birds passing northwards
from their African winter quarters, for the blooming of wild orchids
and other flora, and an enchanting display of many butterflies.
